REDUNDANCY POLICY

Every photographer’s worst nightmare is losing a client’s images. Simply put, there is nothing worse I could imagine.

As such, I take my image capture, storage and file safeguarding processes extremely seriously and I have detailed below the steps I take to make sure that the worst-case scenario is managed effectively.

STEP 1: Shooting your wedding

  • I always work with two separate camera bodies. This allows me to utilise different lenses to capture all the key moments from your day, but also to mitigate the risk of a technical failure to a single camera unit.

  • The camera systems I use have dual memory cards in each body. In layman’s terms, every picture I take is immediately written to and stored on TWO memory cards. This is the best set-up currently on offer.

STEP 2: Backing Up

  • Images will be transferred to a local Hard-Drive that is RAID formatted. Essentially, your images will be stored in 4 x locations during processing (2 x Memory Card and 2 x Hard-drives)

STEP 3: Cloud Back up

  • The final step I take is to send the original files to the Cloud. For this, I use Backblase – an online cloud backup service specifically for photographers.

STEP 4: Drop-Box

  • Final edits of your day will be stored both locally on a RAID Hard-Drive, and also submitted to DropBox where you will be able to access them directly.
